As we as a society become more advanced, a large amount of what we are consuming as food, really is not food at all. Oh sure, it looks like food and tastes like food, but nutritionally, we may as well be eating cardboard.
Have you noticed that the more processed foods become and the more convenient foods become, the sicker we become?
"I came to Dr. Minond because I was having joint problems. Specifically, my knees hurt almost constantly. I knew it was because I was overweight.
Instead of just telling me to lose weight, Dr. Minond treated the pain in my knees.
Because he was so gracious with me, I finally summoned up the courage to ask if he could help me with my diet.
He was kind enough to recommend some nutritional supplements for me to try. He then worked with me to create a diet. Surprisingly, it was a diet I could live with."

Have you seen pictures of the chickens that are so breast heavy that they can't stand? Nature did not create chickens like that, humans did. How about the propensity to add high fructose corn syrup to everything?
Look around your kitchen. You will find HFCS in almost everything from bread to pasta sauces to condiments. I have studied the way nutrition and lack of nutrition affects the body. As a Holistic Nutritionist, I firmly stand behind, and recommend integrated nutrition.
What is Integrated Nutrition?
Integrated nutrition is an approach to diet and nutrition that integrates different diet theories. It is based on the principle that in order to have an optimal lifestyle and optimal health, we must eat optimal foods. Food should appeal to and nourish both the body and the soul or spirit. Foods that are consumed should be comforting and should be healing and restorative.
It has been proven that making the right food choices makes a person healthy. People who make the right food choices usually do not suffer from as many illnesses as those who make bad food choices. Even the traditional medical community recognizes the importance of a healthy diet in the prevention of diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and cancer.
Integrated nutrition is a type of holistic nutrition. I counsel you on nutrition that is based on your whole being and devise a diet that matches your unique and individual need. I believe that each person needs a balance of proteins, nutrients, and vitamins in order to reach maximum mental and physical health. Each person's needs vary and that each individual needs a different balance of these foods in order to meet their optimum health.
Integrated Nutrition Improves Wellness
A natural food diet is imperative in order to be healthy. Natural foods that I recommend are:
- Fresh chicken that is free-range and is raised without the use of growth-hormones or antibiotics
- Beef, in small quantities, that has also been allowed to freely graze and has been raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics
Highly processed foods and foods containing sugar substitutes such as aspartame are considered toxic. They have been known to cause health problems including aggravating the symptoms of gastric reflux disease and fibromyalgia.
Medical problems such as food allergies, sinusitis, and tinnitus, can be treated and cured by following a holistic therapy process that not only includes natural chiropractic cures and treatment, but also incorporates Chinese therapies such as acupressure, exercise such as static yoga, and dietary changes that incorporate the principles of integrated nutrition.
Each person who comes to me for nutritional counseling will be given a diet based on his or her lifestyle. I realize that dietary changes can be hard to make. We will work with you to plan a nutritional regimen that is not only healthy, but one that tastes good also.
Not everyone can go strictly organic due to the rising cost of food. That is why I am trained to know which foods are affected by processing and hormones. Working with this knowledge, we will help you plan a food budget that is within your means.
Another thing I can help you with is teaching you how to prepare fun, healthy, meals that encompass the therapeutic value of integrated nutrition. Today's society has become too dependent on fast-food and convenience foods. Learning how to quickly prepare simple, healthy meals will not only save you and your family money, but will also improve your health.

I take a holistic treatment approach to treating all our patients, and approach each patient with the understanding that we need to focus on more than just the complaint, illness or injury. We also need to take into account a patients' mind, body, and spirit as a whole. Rather than just treating a specific part of your body, I treat you as a whole person and as an individual.
All health problems are combined and the best treatment to any problem or illness is contained within combined mental and physical aspects of the body. Nutrition therapy exists, just as physical and mental therapy exists.
When humans were created, our genetic code was designed for us to eat and process and use as energy, whole grains, nuts, fruits, berries, fish, fowl, and beef that was grown naturally without the use of pesticides or methods to increase the size of our food. As technology developed, foods began to be processed in order to give food a longer "shelf-life."
Processing enabled food to be safely stored. Then processors began to add things to our food in order to mass-produce more food at a time. They added fillers, hormones, antibiotics, chemicals, and nitrates to our food. We began to consume imitation fruit, imitation nuts, imitation sugars, and suddenly cases of cancer, diabetes, food allergies, blood pressure, and heart disease increased. Our genetic code was never designed to handle and process artificial ingredients.
Nutritional Evaluation Services
A complete, holistic, nutritional evaluation, is the first step for corrective recommendations on your diet. I can suggest dietary supplements and ways you can gradually modify your diet. The energy, vitality, and good health that you will experience as part of the integrated nutrition process will return your health to its highest level of wellness, and help you gradually make an improved lifestyle change.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael Minond
